Moby Tommy

Ro-Ro pax "Moby Tommy" represents represents a major conversion project commissioned to Palumbo Shipyards Naples

Two new decks were installed on the aft part (deck 7 and 8) and deck 6 was extended. Intermediate deck between 4 and 5 was added to the forward and aft part of the vessels and 209 new passenger cabins were built as well as technical spaces and new halls.

A new electrical car deck was installed between deck 3 and 4.
All main systems were updated.

Moby Zazà

Ro-Ro pax "Moby Zazà" represents a major refitting project which involved all public areas from deck 4 to deck 9.

A total surface of 3.000 sqm was refitted to a new show lounge and dining area. 
Moreover the project provided the implementation of 40 new comfortable passenger cabins (standard, family and suites) which replaced the existing public areas. The complete refitting of the old 265 cabins included the restyling of all the interiors and carpeting.

Complete external painting of the ship with the application of Warner Bros comic strips was carried out.

Moby Kiss

Ro-Ro pax "Moby Kiss" visited Palumbo Shipyards Naples for major refitting intervention, being the same ready for demolition.

The intervention involved the complete renovation of bridge 6 with new self-service and bar areas, stairs and kitchens. Renewal of all armchairs on bridge 8 and the refitting of the official booths on bridge 7. 

A total remake of the non-commissioned officers area with 34 new cabins, the replacement of diesel generators and the complete maintenance of all facilities in the engine room were carried out successfully.

Great Lady

Crude Oil Tanker, Eastern Mediterranean "Great Lady" was one of the greatest ships entered in Palumbo Shipyards Malta for maintenance works.

The 338m supertanker ( 250,000t), Greek flag built in 2005, choose Palumbo Shipyards for a 15 day stop and general maintenance works.

Didon

FSO, PA Resources, "Didon", tunisian owned vessel visited Palumbo Shipyards Malta for a major refit.

More than 270t of steel were replaced, both in tanks, ship sides and keels.
Mechanical repairs, overhauls and quite substantial pipeworks involved almost all lines on deck and engine room.

Moby Corse

Ro-Ro pax "Moby Corse" was carried out at Palumbo Shipyards Naples between January and April 2010 for major refitting.
Renewal of 50 standard, superior and luxury cabins with complete replacement of furniture, carpets, electrical and hydraulic systems. 

Same was done on 200 cabins on deck number 6. A complete replacement of all public areas was performed as well as the construction of a new self-service area, restaurant, shops and play area for children. Design, construction and replacement of the entire stern ramp completed the refitting project.

Eurocargo Genova

“High Naval Surgery” on a Ro/Ro Vessel was carried out at Palumbo Shipyards Malta.

Bulbous bow of about 200 tons was completely replaced.

Being the bow of the vessel damaged for about 30 meters, the entire bulbous bow was built in Palumbo’s workshops prior entrance of the vessel into dock.  Floating maneuvers to achieve alignment between the damaged part and new built section took place at ship’s entrance.

Demolition of the old bulb, and replacement with new, completed the extremely challenging intervention.

Prinsendam

On October 17th 2013, Prinsendam drydocked at Palumbo Shipyard Malta.  

Prinsendam is the Holland America’s smallest vessel, considered a pathfinder. This is the ship to choose if far away destinations, “longer than usual itineraries” and superb value for money are key factors in selecting a cruise .  

Holland America has continued to upgrade and refurbish Prinsendam after acquisition of the vessel in Seabourn in 2002.

Aethalia

Ro-Ro pax Toremar "Aethalia" is a 84m (2900 GT) vessel built in 1991 with a passenger capacity of 790 and 96 cars.
The main work on Toremar Aethalia was the remake of two decks including carpets, furniture, ceilings and main systems (electrical, security, emergency, communication) with a structural intervention and restyling of all the interiors. A total refitting of all public areas was successfully carried out.

Oglasa

Toremar Oglasa was built in 1980 by Cantieri Navali Riuniti in Palermo, Italy.

The 91m vessel (2386 GT), with a passenger capacity of 1800 and 106 cars, visited Palumbo Shipyards Naples for refit intervention.  An entire section of the vessel was rebuilt and main works were carried out for a complete renewal of public areas, flooring, ceiling, furniture. 

Radical works concerned hull, superstructure, machinery, propellers and stabilizers to enhance performance and comfort on board.

Blu

In 2011 Palumbo Shipyards Naples secures a contract for the construction of a high-tech work unit: Tug Recoil Globeco "Blu”. A steel unit of 38m, 10.6m beam and a GT of 464, with the precise mission to protect the marine environment in case of accidental pollution caused by oil and its derivatives.

This M/V Tug “Blu” represented a challenge for Palumbo both for reduced timing and for the overall complexity of the systems and their management.

Mega Express V

The 170m Ro-Ro pax, Corsica Ferries, "Mega Express V" was originally registered in Japan with no certification regarding the compliance with the international navigation rules. 
Palumbo designed, built and assembled approx 2,000 t of steel for the construction of 350 new passenger cabins and car decks. Works were carried out during 2007 and were completed in a record time of 9 months at Palumbo Shipyards Messina

Vervece

Palumbo was entrusted from Owner for a complete conversion of the tug into a yacht. The plates of the hull were completely changed and superstructures totally rebuilt, thus making Vervece for 80% a new yacht.

The pleasure yacht "Vervece" has a 30m LOA, 7,70m beam, 2 Cummins engines with a power of 746Kw @ 1800 rpm with a cruising speed of 12 knots, range of 3000 miles at cruising speed for a gross tonnage of about 300t.

The Tug was built in the ‘60 under RINA Classification and is now Charter Class and MCA compliant.

Regal Star

The 160m Ro-Ro pax Tallink "Regal Star" was carried out by Palumbo Shipyards Naples between 1997 and 1999. 

336.000 working hours by less than two years. Regal Star obtained RINA classification for carrying passengers, carrying hazardous cargo, international navigation and ice class. 

All works were carried out in compliance with SOLAS.

Bella Desgagnes

Ro-Ro pax, Desgagnés Transport, "Bella Desganegnés" is a 97m LOA -  6588 GT passenger vessel completed in march 2013 by Palumbo Shipyards Naples.

The vessel was built by Palumbo in a record time, under the supervision of Lloyd Register and Transport Canada surveyors.

The vessel now represents a technical excellence as far as the international standards are concerned for passenger ships. Bella Desgagnés is an Ice and DP class vessel in compliance with Lloyd Classification standards and canadian flag.

Monte Stello

Partially sunk after a collision, Ro-Ro pax "Monte Stello" was salvaged and tugged to Palumbo Shipyards Naples in 1993. 
The repair intervention involved about 350.000 working hours, two years of activity and approximately 2.000 t of steel. Structural renewal of bottom and bow, complete overhauling of all damaged machinery in the engine room, renewal of the steering gear equipment, shaft lines, propellers and electrical installation were successfully carried out

The pleasure yacht "Tubingen" was a German military vessel built in 1930. 42 meters long and 8 meters wide.
Palumbo Shipyards Naples carried out maintenance works such as complete painting of the hull and superstructure, complete cycle of painting, pumps maintenance, dry docking.
